The many uses of vinegar:
  • Place a bowl of vinegar in any room or piece of furniture to help eliminate musty or
    smoky smells.
  • Mix equal parts vinegar and water to clean and disinfect office equipment.
  • Clean window blinds using same solution as above and a cotton glove.  Dip gloved
finger into solution and wipe both sides of blinds at same time. Rinse glove and
    continue.
  • Unclog and deodorize drains.  Pour a half a cup of baking soda and then one cup of
vinegar down the drain.  Once solution stops foaming, rinse with hot water  for a few
    minutes.
  • Speed up a slow drain by pouring half a cup of salt down the drain and then 2 cups
of boiling vinegar.  Flush with hot water, then cold water.
  • Clean tough mildew stains with full strength vinegar, or for light stains make a half
    and half solution.
  • Polish stainless steel and chrome with full strength vinegar and soft cloth.
  • Soak silverware and jewelry in a half cup of vinegar and baking soda for 3 hours.
Rinse and dry with soft cloth.
  • Remove stickers by soaking surface and scrape off.
  • Remove carpet stains with half a cup of vinegar and 2 tablespoons of salt.  For
tough stains add 2 tablespoons of borax.
